When you need a duplicate key, a locked fixed or if you are locked out, you call a locksmith. Just like you visit a doctor when you are sick or you call a plumber to fix a leaky sink. However, locksmiths provide far more locksmith services than people may be aware of. As a trusted locksmith company in Boston for over 70 years, we have a growing number of consumers who are unaware of all the different locksmith services we offer. We thought by listing just a FEW of these services, we could better help our customers understand the scope of work we do on a daily basis. Below, you will find some of the most common locksmith services we offer, but it is by no means a fully comprehensive list. A good rule of thumb is; if it is on the door, a locksmith will service it. That includes hinges, door closers, exit devices, thresholds, frames, basically everything!
House Keys: Our key duplication machines are calibrated daily, with a micrometer, down to the closest thousandth of an inch, to ensure your copies work every single time, without fail. Why make multiple trips to the hardware store? Get it copied here and save yourself the “back and forth”. You wouldn’t call a plumber to fix a light fixture, so why would you have anyone besides a locksmith, cut your house key? We’ll cut it perfectly, the first time, in less than a minute!
Lock Rekeying: Did you know you can change the key that operates your home, without having to incur the cost of purchasing a new lock? It’s fast, easy and can be done in our vans, or in our shop, by a trained locksmith. We will basically change the pins, inside your lock, to work with an entirely new key. Or, we can even make the key from another door work. It’s entirely up to you! Why carry around multiple leys for multiple doors? Have us key them all alike and carry one key that works everything!
Deadbolts: This is your main line of defense against intruders. They can make the difference between your house being burglarized, or the thief moving on. Sometimes, just having them installed, is enough to deter a criminal. But do you have one on every exterior door? If you answered no, you could be at a huge risk! Criminals look for weak points and capitalize on them. So, why invest in a cheap lockset from a hardware store? Why put $10 locks on a $300,000 home? It just doesn’t make sense. Let a professional locksmith get you setup with a high quality deadbolt, that you won’t find anywhere else!
Intercom Systems: The ability to control who comes in and out of the door, without having to leave a desk, is a luxury, most receptionists or office workers would love to have. These systems have so many different features, at different price points, we are sure to have an option that works within your budget. Some systems utilize audio only, allowing you to ask the person at the door or his or her credentials. Other systems have fully functional video capabilities, with recording and zooming features, allowing you to capture all activity you want, at the door. E-Mail or call us today for a free quote!
Exit Devices & Crash Bars: One of the most important products a business owner can install on a door is an exit device or panic bar. At The Flying Locksmiths, we can repair or replace any exit device, on any door, with the utmost confidence that it will operate correctly on a daily basis, and will coordinate with Fire Code Safety laws.
Card Access & Keypads: The use of keypads or access cards is growing exponentially in popularity. These systems are becoming more and more advanced, while the features become incredibly useful for business owners. Why hand out keys at all? With products like Alarm Lock, Paxton and the Arrow Revolution, access can be restricted to a 6 digit combo, key cards or proximity fobs. The Alarm Lock and Paxton systems can even restrict access to certain times of the day, and record logs of employees trying to enter after hours! It’s truly is amazing! These systems can easily be maintained by our staff, or we will teach you how to operate it, so you can make the changes in real time, as needed. Give us a call for an estimate and explore just how impressive these systems are!
