Locks & Keys

Locks and keys are one of the oldest methods of keeping an entry secure and are, of course, still in use today. Technology has advanced significantly since the first lock and key system was used, and today’s homeowners and businesses have a variety of options to choose from depending on their needs. The Flying Locksmiths have been in the lock and key business for over 70 years and offer a full suite of services for both commercial businesses and residential homeowners.

Desk Locks & Keys

Did you know we can make keys to office furniture without ever dispatching a locksmith to your location? It’s true! Most locks have a code, right on the face of the cylinder, that we can use to create a factory cut desk or filing cabinet key that will operate the lock. It’s extremely easy and inexpensive to do, so why not contact us today and get that drawer or file cabinet locked up once and for all? In fact, you can take care of multiple desks and file cabinet keys at once and get a discount! Just e-mail us the codes and we will mail you back the keys. It’s that simple! If the code is unreadable or simply not there, don’t worry, we can still help. Give us a call and a trained locksmith can create a working key by hand.

Door Knobs

When you think about lock installation, you probably think about your standard door knob installation or deadbolt lock installation. There are several instances when you should think about rekeying your locks or installing a whole new lock. Old locks, for instance, are very easy to break into, so if your lock has become rusty or creaky, it’s probably time to replace the lock. If you lose your keys, you should absolutely rekey or consider a completely new door lock installation. In commercial situations, if you have a change in management or staff, you should consider installing new commercial door hardware. Knobs typically aren’t a good option due to American Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, which dictate that doors can’t require twisting or grasping tightly in order to open. Knobs require both. As such, door levers are often chosen over knobs in schools, offices and other public facilities.

Leversets

Leverset handles are a great option if you know your door is going to be used frequently and in a variety of situations. If you are going to be using the door to carry things in or out with your hands full for example, a leverset will allow you to open the door without having to use a hand to turn a knob. The trained and experienced team at The Flying Locksmiths are proud to be able to offer leverset installation and repair services to all of our residential and commercial clients. Padlocks

When choosing a padlock, the options are nearly endless. Features include body size, key operation, weatherproofing, shackle size, combo operation, and more. There are many uses to padlock keys, including locks that work on one key, eliminating the need for additional keys. Homeowners can have padlocks that match their main house key, so they don’t have to have separate keys for their garage or shed, etc…. With a successful and efficient partnership with Clark Security Products in Massachusetts, we can have any padlock next day, keyed and ready to go, and that’s only if we don’t already have it in our showroom or van (we like to stay stocked).

File Cabinet Locks & Keys

Deadbolt Installation

A deadbolt installation is your main line of defense against intruders. They can make the difference between your house being burglarized, or the thief moving on. Sometimes, just having a deadbolt installation, is enough to deter a criminal. But do you have one on every exterior door? If you answered no, you could be at risk! Criminals look for weak points and capitalize on them. So, why invest in a cheap lockset from a hardware store? Why put $10 locks on a $300,000 home? It just doesn’t make sense. Let a professional locksmith get you setup with a high quality deadbolt installation, that you won’t find anywhere else!

Medeco

Medeco is a U.S based lock manufacturer that has been an industry leader for nearly 50 years. Their locks protect assets across the globe and can be found guarding all types of buildings, from homes and businesses to military facilities. Medeco also employs some of the best methods and technology to prevent their locks from being bypassed. For example, you can only copy or replace your key with Medeco themselves, which makes it extremely difficult for a would be criminal to get a duplicate. When you need a business, home, or other asset secured, Medeco are one of our top choices. Get in touch with our team today to discuss your security needs and to learn more about the benefits Medeco locks can offer you.

Rekeying

Did you know you can change the key that operates your home, without having to incur the cost of purchasing a new lock? Lock rekeying is fast, easy and can be done in our vans, or in our shop, by a trained locksmith at a time that is convenient for you.

Primus

Primus is a unique, patented type of key that features additional side “cuts” that make the lock extremely difficult to manipulate and open. These side cuts work in conjunction with a “side bar” which is inside the lock. This bar serves as an added layer of security to the cylinder that prohibits the wrong key from turning the lock. It is similar to needing two separate keys to unlock the lock! If a would-be burglar or intruder tries to open a Primus lock without the key, they will give up quickly as they simply won’t succeed.

Master Key Systems

As a business owner, looking to balance business security with employee access is something that may be of importance. Security is crucial to any business whether big or small and master key systems present a simple and effective solution. As one of the nation’s most trusted commercial locksmiths, we can help set up and install a master key system to improve your security and streamline access to those who need it. A master key system works by establishing a multi-tiered security framework. As the business owner, you get a “Grand Master” key that opens every lock in the building, but you can give your employees keys that only open specific areas of your business. For example, you could use a master key system to give office workers access to the office but not to the warehouse, whereas warehouse workers have access to the warehouse but not to the office – all while you get access to every door on the property. You can customize your master key system to have as many tiers of “access privileges” as necessary, providing a simple, modular security solution for even the most complex businesses.

House Keys

Most people copy house keys at the hardware store. But these automatic key machines are not designed for the intricacies of the modern key, and they certainly cannot replace a key that is missing or lost. At The Flying Locksmiths, we provide effective house key copies and key replacements for all types of locks, and can make sure to create a key that works perfectly in your lock.

High Security Keys & Locks

Your security is based on the strength of your locks and your keys. The easier a key is to copy, the more people will have access to the items and people that you are trying to protect. For the average business, that can be a problem, as most businesses have dozens of people come into contact with its keys, as well as locks that an expert criminal can easily manipulate. High-security locks are one potential solution, offering several additional layers of protection that keep your locks safer. With brands like Medeco or Primus and some of the latest in anti-pick technology, high-security locks are a great addition to businesses that need further protection.
